Amazing 6619

Mom has been pretty hardworking and she did some research on the internet. Now, I will be and I am going to be restricted from taking painkillers :( Well not as if the painkillers actually help kill my pain. I really don't know how anymore. I feel so stone all the time. I really want the side effects of steroids to end.
Today was pretty Awesome! Thank God, I managed to actually share my testimony without bursting out in tears. I admit, I was pretty nervous at the beginning. But I guess, it got better when the congregation started laughing when they heard that my dad told me scary things about the hospital. I am just glad it is over luh. For all those who missed my testimony, here it is in soft copy.
Since birth, I have had a history of asthma and eczema. In April, I started taking traditional Chinese medicine hoping to find a cure for my skin condition. During my first few weeks of treatment, I faithfully drank the bitter brew. There were signs showing that my skin condition was improving. However, in May, I started developing a fever. My parents thought that it was nothing serious as I always experienced many episodes of fever that lasted no more than 7 days.

But, this episode of fever was different. It was consistently high and it lasted more than 7 days. Into the 10 days of my fever, I started developing red spots on my hands & legs. Even a slight laughter could cause sharp pain to my abdomen. My parents were worried & after seeking advice from my family doctor they admitted me into KK hospital. I remembered crying all the way from the family doctor’s clinic to the hospital as it was my first time in my life being admitted to hospital and I did not know what to expect. I was afraid as I heard many scary things about the hospital from my dad. As soon as I was warded, the senior consultants came to examine me and after much deliberation they called for the liver specialist as my liver was enlarged.  My case was unique. I was down with DRESS syndrome or in easier terms, an allergic reaction to Traditional Chinese Medicine. My hospital stay was an enriching experience for me. Being the oldest patient in the ward, I made friends with the little kids around me. The 6 days in the hospital changed my perspective of life.  Through the interactions with the other patients of different family backgrounds, I learnt to be more appreciative and open to change.

Honestly, I did not know the seriousness of my condition until I was discharged from the hospital. When the liver specialist told me that if I had not been admitted in time, I would have had to go through a liver transplant.

I really thank God for being gracious by preserving & extending my life and by giving the doctors wisdom to identify and treat my liver in the nick of time. I would also like to thank my loved ones, friends and members of the church who kept me in their prayers. I would like to end with this verse, which brought great comfort to my family during my stay in the hospital. We discovered this verse on the back cover of a prayer book given to me before I was admitted into hospital.

Psalms 66:19
Certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer.
Coincidentally, I was warded in ward 66, bed 19. God is Simply AMAZING!!!

After church, I hung out with Christine jie jie! We went to Spruce for lunch. The food was good! But Christine jie jie didn't let me pay. She would only let me pay when I start working... woah... that is going to be a long time before she allows me to pay. After lunch, we went to Town to shop. From boarders to shaw, to my house to paragon, from taka to wisma. I really had lots of fun shopping with Christine Jie jie. Haha I just realised how cutee she is. Looking forward to meet up Christine Jie Jie & Dr. Stephanie soon!

Signing off with love.
