Flying Geese
This is gonna be a quick post from me. I just experienced a "Eureka!" moment. My economics teacher was talking about the Flying Geese Model. Where one economy, like the first goose in a V-shaped formation, can lead other economies towards industrialization, passing technologies down to the followers as its own income rises and it moves to newer technologies. After awhile, the first goose in the V-shaped would get tired from 'blocking' all the head winds, it will swap places with another goose and there will be a change of goose leading the V-shaped formation. In the same way, this is the model of emerging markets. Each continent / Country would have its chance to be the rising economy. In the past, it was United Kingdom, United States & Japan (not in any order). Currently, the top 5 emerging economies are China, India, Brazil, South Africa & South Korea.
Being an ardent fan of music, I couldn't help but think that maybe the flying geese model can be applied to the music industry as well. Just a few years ago, US and Taiwan were leading in the English and Chinese Music Industry respectively and they probably thought that they were unbeatable.
However, in the recent years, the music industry in Korea has definitely emerged as one of the most influential in the world thus causing KPop to be a craze around the world.
I remember, the first Kpop song I heard a few years back was by Wondergirls titled 'Nobody'. It was a nice catchy song with simple dance moves. ( I would laugh about how the guy gets stuck in the toilet in the music video)
Now, the recent Kpop song that is taking the world by storm is Oppa Gangnam Style by Psy.
This shows that change is constant. There is no 100% change proof shield. But there is one thing I know for sure. God never changes. Let's see what the bible says about it...
Hebrews 13: 8 - "Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday and today and forever."
Malachi 3:6a - "I the Lord do not change."
I don't know about you, but I know sometimes people change, due to stress, peer pressure etc... and maybe because of that, you think that no one cares for you. Be rest assured, God loves you very much! God loved you when you were in your mother's womb. Learn to trust & rely on God.
God's love & blessing!
XOXO
